Piss Poor Preparation Equals Piss Poor Performance

When it comes to motorcycle security, Paul would go by the Harley-Davidson American toolkit, which consists of a credit card, a mobile phone and a Colt 1911. Myself I would go down the technological route and use GPS trackers.

Unfortunately, here in the United Kingdom, we’re limited in what we can actually do to protect ourselves and our property. Sadly, an Englishman’s home is no longer his castle. This is where technology can help level the playing field.

We tested these trackers just two weekends ago. Paul was parked in the middle of a field in Nottingham, and Martin aka DC Wolf, set off from Sheffield, guided by the Robo Hippy, aka James Norton (Myself), using nothing but the tracking device shown in the photo, which was fitted to Paul’s bike.

Paul wasn’t going to make it easy. Paul disconnected the battery on the bike, moved my position and then hid himself at the side of the field behind more than 200 other bikes. Martin was still able to go directly to Paul. He did make one wrong turn, but that was probably due to me not knowing my left from my right! (P.S The trackers have a backup battery just incase they loose main power)

These trackers run from 9V to 100V, which means they can be used on a wide range of vehicles, including motorcycles, cars, trucks and E-bikes. Just add a small fuse holder to the red wire, and connect both the red and black wires to a permanent live voltage, and your good to go.

These devices cost roughly £25, plus around £10 a year for the service. Which is a lot less than the cost in time, stress and money, than a bike going missing. This is not a money making scheme, we just dont want bikes being stolen. The trackers use a 4G sim card, which pops inside the tracker, the trackers are best used using a giff gaff sim, on a pay as you go basis, the only thing you have to do is log on to the app now and again, so the sim knows its being used.

We are more than happy to show you how to set them up, and you can monitor your location on your mobile phone with a free app. We can also monitor, with your permission, the tracking and tell you where your vehicle is, if needed, just in case your phone gets stolen at the same time.

We did a lot of research and testing on these devices and are one of the best we can find for the money.

What the catch? There isnt one.

The module that is used inside the trackers we have tested is one of the highest performing modules available in the world. These trackers are definitely not cheap, but more than affordable, for the most part we are being ripped off.

There are only two modules made for GPS trackers in the world, the exact same module with a battery backup, identical to the ones that we are using, cost well over £150 and you will also have to pay a yearly subscription.
